KEEPING UP WITH BRAND BONANG

KEEPING UP WITH BRAND BONANG

While it might still be just month three of the year, other kids have achieved so much so early in the year, I’m even finding it hard to keep up. I mean, my sister’s varsity classes only resumed just this week. One person that has been at it since this year kicked off is none other than Bonang “Queen B*” Matheba. Having followed Bonang’s career since the beginning I still find it mind blowing that she still sits at the top of the entertainment throne in SA with her name on everyone’s lips, after all these years.

One thing I’ve noticed about the Radio and TV Personality is that she has done a great job of constantly evolving her brand, exploring different avenues, while keeping her legion of fans entertained throughout the journey. While hard work, professionalism and consistency are some of the key attributes that have become synonymous with Brand Bonang over the years, it’s quite evident that the “Queen of all things fabulous” is reinventing her brand by adding layers to her valuable brand. Lately, I’ve been noticing hues of philanthropy, openness and relatability permeate her brand.

Last year, the Front Row host announced the release of her first book to be released in April. “My book is coming out very soon, I’m very excited about that. It is an inspirational book, I feel like it’s going to really have a wonderful impact on lots of people’s lives whether you want to get into entertainment or not, it’s just about being a better version of yourself, how I did it,” Bonang told The Juice. One thing I’d love to see from the book is how she knows it’s time to reinvent herself timeously, before the attention sways in a different direction. Interestingly enough, the book will not only benefit fans that wish to get into the industry, my mind tells me a lot of our faves will be buying the book just to see “how it’s done”.

Earlier this week, the Revlon brand ambassador, announced a new partnership with exclusive luxury cognac brand, Courvoisier, alongside David Tlale and TBo Touch. According to the brand the three, being some of South Africa’s most distinguished artists and personalities, will bring their charisma and prestige to unforgettable Courvoisier celebrations to all of SA’s major cities later this year. “Together, these extraordinary self-made achievers illuminate the aspirant and refined nature of the brand and embody the style and the spirit of Paris’ Golden Age, its glamour, optimism and decadence. We welcome them to this chapter of Courvoisier and are excited to celebrate today’s moments with them,” says Daniel Hawkins, Managing Director of ABV Brands.

Of course, one announcement a week is not enough when you are the one who reigns supreme. In true Bonang style, the Queen of it ALL, announced that she would be embarking on a very interesting venture in partnership with Vuzu TV. Produced by Barleader Productions, under the leadership of Legend Manqele and Bonang Matheba Entertainment, B* will star in a new reality show, BeingBonang which will premier on the channel’s premium VuzuAmp channel. Who’s coming to my screening party?
