The debate around diversity is one that will never stop trending. The more we argue and make calls for a more diversified and inclusive fashion and beauty industry, the more brands will eventually be inclined to act better. Recently, we have seen a distinct trend toward increasingly diverse representation emerge amongst beauty brands, with L’Oreal at the forefront of brands that have adopted this philosophy. For years, L’Oréal has been on the fast track for inclusivity evident with their diverse group of ambassadors, spanning across different races, ages, and genders.


Helen Mirren:

71-year-old Oscar-winning actress and British icon Dame Helen Mirren was tapped by the beauty brand back in 2014 and has since appeared in numerous L’Oréal campaigns, both solo and alongside other famous ambassadors. In March this year, L’Oréal Paris (UK) released its latest Age Perfect Face, Neck & Decollete campaign starring Mirren. Adrien Koskas, General Manager, L’Oréal Paris UK, said: “Through this launch, we’re very proud to celebrate women over 60 and femininity with the genuine wit and humour of our dear Helen Mirren. With ‘French Lessons’ we were able to take her humour one step further – the result is rather cheeky and should work perfectly across social channels to support the campaign”.

Aishwarya Rai:

Exactly a year ago today, Aishwarya Rai launched L’Oreal Paris’ Infallible Cannes 2016 Collection as both celebrated significant milestones – the cosmetic brand completing 19 years of being a make-up partner to the most prestigious event in global cinema, while she marked 15 years of representing India at the Festival. “It is an absolute privilege to represent L’Oreal Paris and India in particular, at a platform that honours world cinema and beauty in equal measure. I’ve treasured every moment at Cannes and I’m ever so thankful to L’Oreal Paris, members of the Indian and world media, my well-wishers and my family for always making this such a memorable experience. I’m looking forward to now creating some Infallible moments at the French Riviera with my L’Oreal family of amazing make up technicians and my co-ambassadors,” she said. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been the face of the company since 2000.

Zoe Saldana:

In 2014, the beauty giant announced then 35-year old Zoe Saladana as the newest addition to its slew of Ambassadors. She expressed her gratitude to be working with the mega beauty brand in a statement, “I want to share that value with women so they can embrace it and execute life with confidence. I am thrilled to join this beauty journey with such an inspirational brand. As a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson, being able to say, ‘We’re worth it,’ means so much to me.”

Lewis Hamilton:

Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to being a spokesperson for different brands, but the Formula One racing champion landed one of his biggest campaigns to date, when he was announced at the face of L’Oréal, becoming a brand ambassador for their Men Expert range. “I’m honoured to be a global spokesperson for @lorealmen,” the racing champion commented. L’Oréal Paris Brand Global President Cyril Chapuy said that being the world’s fastest driver, Hamilton has become a legend. He likes taking risks, on the track and in his style, he said adding for the new men like him “masculinity doesn’t mean macho — it means masculine.”

Blake Lively:

My real-life Barbie goals, American actress Blake Lively, who shot to fame in her role as the stylish and rebellious Serena in hit TV series Gossip Girl, became the face of the French beauty brand, joining Cheryl Cole, Claudia Schiffer, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé and Lara Stone in 2013. “I am thrilled and honoured to join the incredible women who represent L’Oréal Paris. From the versatile and multi national brand ambassadors, to all the women who proudly wear L’Oréal Paris each day,” said Lively.

Liya Kebede:

Liya Kebede joined L’Oreal Paris as a spokesmodel and global brand ambassador for the cosmetics brand in June 2011. “It is important for me that I represent a brand that reflects my personality. I’m pleased to play a part in sharing the uniqueness, the charisma, and the incredible stories of women of all origins and from all regions of the world,” the Goodwill Ambassador nominee said.
