IS CAMILA COEHLO FINALLY ON HER WAY TO JOINING THE FOUNDERS CLUB?
Camila Coelho, who sits comfortably at 7,3 million followers on Instagram is a Brazilian-born blogger and YouTube beauty sensation who simultaneously runs two channels, one in English and the other in Portugese, boasting 1million and 3 million subscribers respectively. Camila also happens to be the ultimate fashion and beauty influencer in my eyes. I’m currently obsessed with influencers who are flipping the script and creating their own brands. These influencers make up what is being termed the “founders club”, a group of influencers who have gone from influencer to CEO. For me, the dream founders club consists of fire starters such as Marianna Hewitt of Summer Fridays, Lily Ghalichi of Lily Lashes, Negin Mirsalehi of Gisou and Chiara Ferragni of The Chiara Ferragni Collection to mention but a few. I have been yearning to see Camila join this dynamic club, which I believe is the ultimate achievement in the influencer cycle.
While she may not have launched an owned brand, the 30-year old beauty recently revealed a hot collaboration with prestige makeup brand, Lancôme to launch her very own line of creamy and matte lipsticks. L’Absolu Rouge, a collection of ten lipsticks (neutrals, reds, browns, corals, pinks) that range from brooding to bright is set to become an Instagram favourite. The collection packaging is beyond amazing – each bullet is in the shape of a pair of lips, and the case comes in my favourite shade of red with gold accents. “I’ve never been more excited than when Lancôme suggested we create lipsticks together. They see me as a lipstick girl, and I am — it’s the one thing I cannot live without, she said in an Allure Magazine exclusive.
The superinfluencer who started off her career working at the Dior Beauty counter at Macy’s has collaborated with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Urban Decay, Revolve, Neutrogena, Covergirl, Armani Beauty and Dior. The Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge x Camila Coelho lipsticks will be available to order online at Sephora.com and lancome.com beginning August 28th, and will hit shelves starting September 7th. No official word on launch dates for SA retailers.
I hope that we will see more of this side from Camila, hopefully resulting in her launching her own products.
